Vela Luka is a small coastal town on the island of Korčula, Croatia. The project sits within the dense fabric of its historic centre, a maze of traditional stone houses and tiled roofs, just 100 metres from the sea.

On a gently sloping 300 m² plot, four houses reinterpret the character of the existing urban fabric, adapting its compact typology to contemporary living and the changing demands of tourism.

Two narrow internal streets divide the plot into four volumes, creating a sequence of private and semi-private spaces. Rather than simply separating the houses, these in-between spaces become the heart of the project: a shifting composition of light and shadow, solid and void, intimacy and openness.
