bg studio was founded in 2003 by Susana Iñarra and Marin Marinović, who was joined in 2012 by Pablo Barquero. The practice continues to this day, carrying forward the same investigation around one question:

What does a place ask of architecture?

But a practice is not only what gets built.

There are projects that remained unfinished, competitions that were never realised, ideas overtaken by circumstances, and proposals that quietly disappeared despite still carrying something worth looking at.

With the help of new tools, some of these projects can now be revisited and brought back into the present. Not to complete what history left unfinished, but to give the ideas another chance to be seen.

This is a gesture towards the people who made these projects.

Many are no longer part of bg studio, but their thinking, drawings and work are inseparable from its history. Revisiting these projects is a way of recognising that shared authorship and keeping those contributions from disappearing with time.

The website is therefore both a record of the work and a place for its continued exploration. A way of looking back, while leaving room for what may come next.

Some things were built.
Some were not.
Some perhaps deserve
to be seen again.
