The Public School Enrique Terrasa, is a monumental building from 1940, located in the waterfront district Malvarrosa in Valencia, a few meters from the beach. Our intervention has been the creation of two volumes of appendices on the front courtyard, which unify all wet cores of the school. For the execution of the work it was decided to use forged metal frame structure, and that way has not been necessary disrupting teaching process and it was possible to finish the whole project relatively fast. In the composition of the facades we played with a random cutting of three modules window, which allows the reading of the volumes as independent pieces in the center and getting an interesting play of light and shade inside of the volumes.
The choice of interior materials is made efforts to ensure the strength needed for heavy use, but still nice spaces with diferent rich optical sensations for its young users.
